Nick has been Joint Head of the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles since July 2022, leading the UK government team supporting the transition to zero emission vehicles and the rollout of charging infrastructure. Prior to this, he was Deputy Head of Decarbonisation Strategy in the Department for Transport (DfT), including developing the 2021 Transport Decarbonisation Plan. Before DfT, he worked in Cabinet Office covering energy, environment and transport, and the Department of Energy and Climate Change.

Josey Wardle is the Innovation Lead for ZEV infrastructure at Innovate UK. She specialises in the infrastructure required to enable zero emission transport, using experience gathered over 13 years working in the EV industry and her recent PhD investigating the future of EV charging. Josey currently manages the EV charging and V2G/V2X programmes of innovation projects funded by UK Government, and in 2022 was named as one of the UK’s Top Women in EV. Innovate UK is part of UK Research and Innovation, a non-departmental public body, driving productivity and growth by supporting businesses to realise the potential of new technologies, develop ideas and make them a commercial success. Innovate UK provides connections and funds businesses and research collaborations in all economic sectors, value chains and UK regions to accelerate innovation.
Electric vehicles: Leading the way on inclusively designed charging infrastructure

Chloe is Deputy Head of Stakeholder Engagement and International in the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV), supporting the team’s liaison with industry stakeholders and international Governments. She also leads on accessibility policy in OZEV, supporting an inclusive charging infrastructure rollout across the UK. Chloe joined the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles in August 2021, initially supporting policy for the UK’s Plug-in Car Grant until the scheme was closed in June 2022. Prior to joining OZEV, Chloe worked for a local authority highway department, leading the team responsible for statutory consultations and legal agreements.
